Bana Yudham - Balakavi Rama Shastri(1775 to --)                                                                         BACK

Though this is a full lenghth story, only some scenes are regularly played. Hence we run through the story only briefly.

 Bana is a Demon king, and Usha is his beautiful daughter. One day Usha and her friend Chitra Lekha were dancing, singing and playing with a ball and so on until suddenly Usha gets tired and goes to sleep on a bench reclining her head on Chitra Lekha's lap. In sleep she gets a strange dream. She sees herself in love with a prince and the prince starts caressing her. She gets up from the sleep and starts tottering as if searching for her lover. When she describes her dream to Chitra Lekha, Chitra lekha draws pictures of various princes of the time. When she draws Anirddha, Usha immediately identifies him as her lover. Aniruddha was Krishna's grandson. Chitra lekha with her powers brings Aniruddha to Usha's palace and they start to live together without the knowledge of others. However Bana comes to know of it, and promptly arrests Aniruddha.

This news reaches Krishna, Aniruddha's grandfather. Krishna and his army marches to Bana's fort. However Bana's fort is protected by Shiva's army(Bhoota Ganas). A war ensues. Krishna's forces are repelled by Shiva Jwara. In turn Shiva Jwara was fought by Vishnu Jwara and repelled.

After some time Bana and Krishna come out and fight each other. Bana had one thousand arms. These were reduced to four during the war. Tthe war was ended in a truce brokered by Shiva. Krishna takes back Aniruddha and the marriage between Usha and Anirudda is conducted in style with the blessings of everybody.

In this story Bana is Kathi vesha, Krishna and Aniruddha are Pacha, Shiva Jwara is Red Beard, Vishnu Jwara is White Beard, others are Minuku.
